Using Crystal 9 to extract a timestamp field from an oracle database. Crystal only finds the field as a ‘Blob’ and I unable to run any formula against a blob field. Is there a quick solution to make Crystal see the field as a string or number?

Dear John,

Hmm, have you tried writing a sql expression? I am not sure that you can directly substring a blob field, you might consult with your Oracle DBA on solutions.

Hi,
It is is a true timestamp,it would be visible to CR..Ask the DBA what it actually is..If BLOB or CLOB, perhaps inserting a Sql expression to convert it to a Varchar will work.
The DBA can help with what Sql expression is needed.
