Hi guys !

Another "generic" question on drive firmware...

I have a couple of mixed seagate drives (ST...something) 50gb fibre drive.

I suspect some to have the generic firmware and some to be EMC.

I read that Seatools can be used to download the new firmware to the drive...Is this correct? Where can I find the firmware ? Will the util prevent me to install a generic firmware if it detects the disk's firmware is EMC ?

Thanks in advance !

According to Seagate, you need to contact tech-support in order to get the firmware. A fragment of the source page:

"To obtain the unique firmware download certificate number for your hard drive, contact Seagate Technical Support via phone or by email at discsupport@seagate.com."
