How to upgrade OS on R3.0 BCM50e?

I have recently installed the NTKC0935 BCM50 1.0 to 3.0 Software Upgrade kit. and I was wondering how do I upgrade the OS from 1.0 to 3.0? I was told that level 2 reset will reboot machine into 1.0 and not keep 3.0 install.

U need to download the R! - R3 upgrade patch off of the Nortel site.
