How to update the Package layer

Hi

From the cognos documentation i understand that whenever the businesslayer gets updated ,pacakge layer gets updated automatically. And this is only for the default package layer.

But when i tried this,it is not yielding me the correct results. I have done the following steps to simulate the same

1.I have deleted one folder from the default package layer.

2.Did a Refined the architect model

But it did not bring back the folder into the package layer.

Any ideas in fixing this will be of great use

Packages are separate from the Business layer. Any work you do to change the package (ie removing folders) will not be corrected by refining the model. Architect assumes that you're packages are a finished product and are supposed to have additional or less components as you have defined them.
You'll need to carry the deleted folder back into the Package.
