I'm on a Mac - 10.3.9 with PHP 5.1.2 from entropy.ch - latest version found for my OS. My MySQL is 5.0.51 and I'm getting this error from phpMyAdmin

Code:
Your PHP MySQL library version 4.1.14 differs from your MySQL server version 5.0.51b. This may cause unpredictable behavior.

How to I update the PHP MySQL library. My phpinfo says it's using the older MySQL.

The info is shown as below.

All help appreciated. I really want to get this working so i can begin learning some new stuff.

Thanks,
Donna

the easiest way is to use MAMP from e-living.

the more difficult is to recompile php with the more recent mysql libraries.

The last I could find at MAMP was for Tiger or higher OS - I still have Panther. Guess I'll have to look into the recompile. I was hoping there was something I could do with a config file to tell to use the newer MySQL.

Thanks,
Donna

I took the time to look and it looks like I can get 1.4.1 MAMP and use with my OS. Whew!

Thanks,
Donna

have you tried the latest version? i've not looked/tried myself but i would have thought it would launch ok.

It says you must have 10.4 or higher OS. But thanks.

Donna

sure it says that. but have you tried it? anyway, glad you got a version that works for you.

No - I haven't tried. I'm going to do the 1.4.1 version when I get home from work.

Thanks
