How to turn off STARTTLS for sendmail client

I am trying to run sendmail as a client without running TLS.

When the server replies wth 250-STARTTLS as one of the reply lines to the EHLO command, sendmail attempts STARTTLS.

How can I turn this off athe client side so that it does not attempt the STARTTLS in reponse?

I will answer this myself. I built and installed the latest sendmail (8.14.4). The problem went away. The client ignores the STARTTLS now, as we want for now.
