After installing SP 2, when I login, I get pop-up messages from the taskbar saying "Your computer may be at risk" or "Your antivirus may be out of date". How do I turn off these pop-ups.

Go to Start/All programs/Accessories/System Tools/Security centre/Virus protection/Recommendations......there is a check box where you can disable security centre from monitoring your virus program, and your choice is to do it yourself .....there seems to be a bug here too, some virus programs that are even update get the pop up you refer to...just turn the bloody thing off!

Or,

Start/All programs/Accessories/System Tools/Security centre

You have to click on the LEFT side on :
"Change the way Security Centre alerts me"

But, you better leave it ON, and get a decent SP2-Aware Anti-Virus
