I have a Merlin Magix system release 1.5 with a DuVoice voicemail voicemail. I have gone into the DuVoice admin menu and deleted mailboxes at two of the extensions in the Magix. The problem I am having is that the 44xx phones still have Message Waiting Indication lamps lit. I have tried both a phone and system reset and I can't seem to clear the red light. Is there a way in WINSPM that I can force the light to be removed?

Under maintenance, system, MW LP Update, you have the option to clear and/or refresh all of the message waiting lights. It may take a minute or so for this to happen after you choose the option.

Thanks for the tip. When I selected refresh, it prompted me for the voicemail calling group, which was the default of 770. I'm waiting to hear back to see if it in fact cleared the empty mailboxes, however I'm certain that it will. Thanks again, Tom.

If not, you can also clear them at each individual phone through extension programming.

Here is some codes that might help also:

*53XXXX for on, and #*53XXXX for off

xxxx of course being the ext # that you need the light on or off.

Tom,

How would I clear the MWL for individual users through the extension menu?

Press Menu, select Msgs, select delete message or Feature *53, plus the extension# You may have to do it multiple times if there are multiple messages left for that phone. Messages are not just from voicemail - they could be from other phones, the oprertor, etc. All of these can turn on the message light at a given phone. The limit of non-voicemail messages is 10 - so you should not need to repeat this more than 10 times.

Dizzy,

I dialed the #*10 from extension 10 to try to turn off the MWL and it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Try #*53, followed by 10.

My fault, I meant to say that I typed #*5310 and it didn't work.

However, I was able to clear the lamps by going through the maintenance, system, MW LP Update, menu. I had to select clear first, then refresh, and 770 (the VM group). the reason it didn't work the first time is b/c I only entered refresh.

Thanks for your help, guys. Problem solved.
