I'm a real newbie to Creative Suite 3 and graphically impaired so please bear with me.

My understanding is Illustrator is the tool to use to create an image map. I've created a visual outline of a report and want to link each section of the outline to the corresponding url.

My problem is Illustrator and PhotoShop treat the imported jpeg as one object. I've painstakingly sliced each section I want as a hot link but can't for the life of me find a way to individually select each slice and turn it into a url link.

What am I doing wrong? Thx. in advance.

No. Illustrator is a vector application that can create an image map just like Photoshop, but it can do far more things then this.

I strongly suggest that you take a look at the Help file provided with the program, which will clarify on how to perform such task.
