Hi

I have a 300 pages word document I want to transfer into Indesign. The document consists of text and different types of graphic.

However I have two problems I cannot solve.

1. The document has about 700 footnotes. From the beginning I used File - Place and imported the whole thing at the same time. It worked all right until a certain point where some of the graphs caused trouble. After correcting this the rest of the document was gone. No problem - I thought - I just import the rest of the document again, but now I cannot make a continous numbering of the footnotes.

The first part of the document has footnotes from 1 to 420. The second part of the document does not allow me to restart the numbering from 421. 400 is the greatest number I can enter.

Can I do anything but retyping the notes by hand?

2. When I have to frames each holding text - is it possible to link these two frames into one? It might solve my problem with the footnotes too.

Thanks

Marianne

Oh - question '2' is solved (by looking in a book!). But the first question???
