How to trunk a Legend to a IP Office 500?

I have a Merlin Legend that needs to trunk to an IP Office until they can get a PRI. Currently the Legend is using analog DID trunks which are not supported on the IP Office. My plan is to set up a T1 trunk between the two systems and route calls in through the Merlin DID trunks then back out to the IP Office. Then have the IP Office call out the T1 trunk and out the DID trunks. In this case the Legend will only need to provide the interface to the DID trunks. I have the T1 trunk between the two handled but my problem is I don't know how to route the calls in the Legend. Docs or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There's a tech aid on the Knowledge Base, and look for the LEGEND Networking Reference on the Avaya support site.

You will use the "Non Local UDP" dial plan to specify the range, the number of digits to delete, any digits to add, and the pool route.

Those analog DID trunks are inbound only on the Legend (if they really are DID trunks connected to an 800DID module). Outbound calls probably go out over POTS lines.

Even if the calls go over a PRI, you're not gonna collect CID and all the beautiful information that you expect. This is going to be a kludge for a minute.

Tom is of course correct about using Non-Lcl UDP as a way to route calls. This technique can be even be used between completely dissimilar switches. I could set you up between say a Legend and a ROLM and have you dial a 3-digit extension number. That process could call the mail number, pause and dial an extension from the Automated Attendant.

But that's not true integration. That's kludge. And kludge works sometimes.
