How to troubleshoot Merlin Messaging R1 flakeyness?

Howdy folks. My saga continues, although with a change in the story line.

It used to be that I did not have an 008 ATL or the 016TRR, the two T1 cards were in slots 6&7, and the MM was in slot 9. When I'd add any card to slot 10, the MM would run fine for about 12 hours, then flake out. When called, you would hear 'transferring to an attendant' and get transferred out and the ATL card would die. Based on suggestions here, I moved the 1st T1 card to the 1st carrier, and then added the other cards. Things were fine for a couple of days, but now we're back to flaking out every once in a while, except that sometimes there is static from the MM and you can barely hear the 'transferring to an operator', and the ATL always works.

Does anyone have suggestions as to what to look at? If I reset the MM it's fine for another 36-48 hours, and then it does it again. No other errors in the logs since I've re-arranged.

I see this as a related problem to the post on HFAI problems. Again -When upgrading to a release 7 Legend you must have at least a CKE4 processor. I ran into similar problems when trying an upgrade like this a few years ago. The older ATL packs will not work correctly on a release 7. The problems are sporatic.

well, since the MM has been working fine for months on a CKE3, does that mean that the issue is really the 008ATL with R7? It would probably be easier for me to live without the ATL. If I upgrade to a CKE4 at R7, will the ATL still cause problems?

I have found the newer ATL packs worked okay. If the card was a migration from a Merlin II or very early release Legend, then you have problems.
