Hi

Kindly provide advice about how to best travel with a laser printer?

I need to travel with a laser printer to various location. I am considering purchasing HP Laserjet Printer (P1005) or Samsung Mono Laser Printer (ML-2240) and putting it in a cushioned suite case and travel with it to various locations where I need to hold meetings and print various documents.

Can you please tell me if I can put the printer in any position in the suite case and will it be fine and function correctly after the travel.

If not, the what are preferred positions that it should be place while traveling ( i.e. Flat with always top facing up, or Ok to put on back or on side but not top facing down etc.)

I wonder if the ink drum or some other part will get damaged by printer being placed in a wrong position like upside down?

If this laser printer will not travel well then please suggest which is better laser printer for continuous traveling purposes.

I thank you for your help.

I would always keep the printer upright.

You might want to look at a "Road Case", perhaps one made by SKB.

Laser printers aren't normally made to travel. In considering weight and portability, you may really want to re-think using an InkJet, which has FAR less moving parts, is lighter, and isn't as likely to damage if bounced around.

Just my 2¢
