Is there a way to transform text and objects in illustrator to place them in perspective. The tranform tool in the toolbox only lets me scale, rotate, shear etc. How do i put objects and text in perspective? I tried using the arc and flag distort tools but i couldn't match the perspective close enough. Also can i constrict an object along a path like with text along a path?

Have you tried Effect > 3d > Rotate?

You can also use the Free Distort tool:
Select the object
Select the Free Distort tool (shortcut: E)
Grab a corner of the object and start dragging.

The trick with this tool is to start dragging BEFORE using modifier keys. So, while the mouse button is still pressed, only then should you press CTRL (Command on Mac) to distort the shape. To distort in perspective, hold down SHIFT-ALT-CTRL instead (SHIFT-OPTION-COMMAND on Mac).
