my old computer croaked. i'd like to move the C: drive,
which works fine to a newer computer. i connected it
but cannot get the computer to boot all the way.
what am i missing here ?

once i get the drive and the computer running. will my
old settings and accounts etc.. be intact ?

:) thx in advance

Which o/s are you running?

The reason its not working is because of the hardware differences between the machines. However, if you're running 2k or xp, then a repair reinstall will generally sort this problem out:-

Best done with an install disk at same service pack level as the installation (otherwise have to reapply service pack). Have to reapply windows updates too. There are various sites telling you how to slipstream service packs into win 2k & xp install files & create new install CD - Google if interested.

If you're running 98/ME, post back.
