How to transfer external calls to a voice box not assigned to a set?

Number of didgits for extensions: 3


Hello,

I was wondering if somebody can tell me if it is possible to transfer the external calls coming into our reception line to a voice mail box that is not assigned to a phone set.
Our receptionist was saying that she cannot transfer the calls to the voice box. I am not sure if the transfer to the voice box in this case has to be done in a different way than the transfer to an extension that is assigned to a phone set.

Thank you for your quick reply.
It turned out that the receptionists did not know how to do
the transfer. Also, apparently the technician that was last time there assigned Feature 986 function to another key that had the label Speed Dial. He turned the label on the key upside down so it is easy to identify the key.

Anyway, it seems to work the way it is supposed to, provided they know how to do it.

Turned the speed dial key upside down so it would be easy to identify as VM transfer?

You gotta love the laziness of some techs.
