How to transfer excel file data to new DBF with specific format 1

I have a exacel file with 2000 row and 13 coloumns and I need to transfer this data to one DBF for some calculations. some of this data was numeric and sume was character and one column must be convert to MEMO.
How can I do that ?
any idea you have ?
if any thread exist for this conversion, tell me please...

this is one time routine and speed not important.

You could create a table with the right fields, then open the excel spreadsheet using automation and process each line until you reach a blank one
taking the cells value and replace a new record in the table.

If you do this, could I suggest you change the background colour for each cell that is processed so that the end user can look at the sheet and see where problems arose if the import was unsuccessful.

Given that it is a one-off job, your best bet might be to use the VFP Import Wizard (go to Tools -> Wizards -> Import), then follow the prompts. If in doubt, click the Help button in the lower-left corner of the wizard.

Farzad, in order to import the Excel data into FoxPro, be sure to save it as a XLS file ("Excel 97 - 2003"), not an XLSX file. VFP's basic import tools don't work with XLSX files.
