I need help trying to telnet into my 3com superstacker 2 netbuilder. I have been trying to telnet into this router with every cable known to man. I am using a win 98 laptop with hyperterminal. I made a new session with the baud=9600, databits=8, parity=none, stop bits=1 and flow control= x on/x off. With no success, I pressed enter and nothing happens, and I have used null cables. Does anybody have any ideas? I am currently using a transceiver with thin net attached. I want to use the 10 baseT port instead and I wanted to check the configurations. Do you think I can just remove the transceiver and just start using the 10 baseT port?

Thanks in advance

Howard

HI Howard

This isn't telnetting. you are attempting a serial connection.

Default is 9600N81, you should have 9pin crossover cable (spec s on 3Com site)then default u/n is root (no password)

also try admin admin
