I am using CR 6.0 and have the envious task of correcting reports. The problem I have is none of the names are representive of the reports. I was wandering how can you tell if a query was used to build a report and how do you alter that query?

Database, Set location.
If it shows a QRY file, you have a query.

You need the SQL editor/query editor tool to edit the QRY. Ken Hamady
