How to tell database on physical server

I am an oracle/teradata db who (because of a personnel change) inherited several informix databases. There is no documentation on what database is on which server. All anyone knows is that they can access the different databases from any one of a few servers. How can I tell which physical server a database is running on? Also, can anyone recommend any good resources (books, user lists, etc) that would be good to get me up to speed quickly?

Hi,

Examine the /etc/passwd file in your servers and locate for user "informix", if you find it in any server, then in all probability Informix database instance may have been configured in it.
