Hello,

Is it possible to tag a word 2002 file as read only ?

Txs in advance for the answer

Hi babine,

Would it work for you to just right-click on the file in Windows Explorer and select the "Read-only" attribute?

Cheers,

Hello Michael,

I selected read-only attribute but I am still able to modify content file .

That is WE-E-I-R-R-D, babine! *scratches head*

Fellow Tek-Tippers - anyone else heard of this happening? You set the read-only attribute, yet can still modify the file contents? If that's the case, what's the point of this attribute?!?!?! [ponder]

You can't save back to same file. Save As... dialog box appears to let user save his changes to a NEW file.
