I am using kde and gnome with my PC 700Mhz 327Mo of RAM i want to use window maker now, i installed windowmaker and windowmaker-libs with the gdm there is no windowmaker in the menu. There is only kde and gnome freesafe !!

i really need help !

Gnome is a desktop environment which uses different window managers. As far as I know windowmaker is a window manager. Do you want Gnome to use windowmaker, like it uses sawfish by default? Or do you want to use windowmaker alone and not use a desktop environment?

In Gnome go to System -> Settings -> Desktop -> Window Manager and you can choose Window Maker there instead of Sawfish.

I have no idea about the state of your system but out of X you could try:

% switchdesk [ desktop name ]

However, a proper installation of WindowMaker should show up in the drop down list of available desktops.

-bitwise

edit your ~/.xsession file and change the gnome entry for /usr/bin/wmaker
