Hi All...
I have one compaq server(single processor, PIII)on which lotus notes server is running.....I want to transfer the lotus notes server onto a Micron server (Dual Processor,PII)
by swaping the hard disk...I have tried by doing so..
But thhings went wrong ...while starting the server it showing one message "ERROR - CPU test failed". Then it goes to windows NT server starting prompt...and then the blue screen appears..What shall I do..Pls advise me..

The problem lies with the HAL (Hardware Abstract Layer). This is the layer between the operating system and the hardware. This is what makes NT hardware independant. As you are moving from a Compaq server to a Micron server, and are using the same disks and thus the same HAL and opearting system, this is where the problem lies. I am not sure that you can do what you are proposing. Probably the best method is to back up the data, build the new system and then restore the data. Not knowing Lotus Notes that much I am not sure how to do the backup.

Suggestion Notes/Domino is only a DataBase..

Shut down Domino (server half of notes)
Back it up.
Use a new Disc in the Micron Server install everything and restore Domino but "KEEP THE OLD DISK INCASE IT GOES WRONG" .

Remember make sure you know how to Install Domino.
