Is there a way to suspend the "Workbook_Open" code from running when opening a file?. e.g.- like hold the ctrl down or some other key combinations?

Hold the Shift key down.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Yes, that's what I end of doing (to just get into the file without the code automatically executing).

But the side effects of doing so puts the file in "edit mode", which then doesn't allow you to run macros at all - even when you try to set security to "Low".

Shift key ... that's it ... I don't know why I was fixated only the ctrl key ... thanks PHV (it seems you helped me in the past on unix-type issues ... thanks again!!!)
