I have created a fill-in form that I want to deploy to a website. I want people to fill out the form and then submit it to me by email. I really don't care whether it's the entire form or just the information on the form.

Please, someone point me in the right direction so I don't spend hours and hours trying to navigate through Acrobat's help mess.

Thanks Tom - I just might be able to handle that after all.

Sorry, Tom that didn't work. If you specify an EMail address in the "Submit To" block you get an error because Acrobat can't connect to the http:// URL - it doesn't work with EMail addresses; only http URL's. As for submitting it to a server app for mailing back, I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about there.

For the server-based workflow, you would use any standard web development language. I prefer PHP. You can use ASP, JSP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, whatever!

The PDF would submit the form, as an FDF or in standard HTML format, back to the web server, to a particular page written to process the form.

That page would gather the data, and email it to you. That is standard web development and is pretty simple.

I thought PDF would submit to a mailto: URL, perhaps I'm wrong. I'll research and post back what I find.

You wouldn't use " you'd use "mailto:info@tgreer.com". I'll explore this a bit.
