Which Delphi control and which type of field in SQL Server2005 I should use to store text with superscripts and subscripts?

No, ordinary text field, just with chemical formulas like CO2, H2SO4, etc.

the only control i know of that supports super and sub scripts is richtext, i think it uses a blob field.

Or you could just store the formulae in a standard text field using standard HTML tag codes and render them when you display them in your program
