How to store de euro symbol in a MySQL VARCHAR?

Hi,
i'm using a MySql system to store strings but i've some problems when i store a string that contains the euro symbol "€", it's automatically convert to a "?".
So my question is, how to store a string that contains the euro symbol without alter it...

use the ascii code value of the euro symbol

Your browser displays the euro symbol (€ or €) as €
