how to stop table from resizing when i add text?

probably a stupid Q, but i have a table with a single cell. in the cell i have simple text. why, when i add text to the cell, does it not wrap? it just keeps expanding

Do you have a "nowrap" tag in the table cell? Are you using an editor to create this? I know sometimes I have had editors sneak that tag in on me before.

If it is there, just remove it and you should be good to go. -----------------------------------------------

i'm using dreamweaver 4, and no-wrap is not set

weird...it quit doing it now. my dreamweaver is always doing weird stuff like this =/
