How to stop status messages from cups printing?

I've just installed the hplip printing drivers on my fedora 14 desktop with HP P2035 printer. It works fine but I get annoying pop status messages when a print job is accepted, started and completed. Each requires a manual action to delete.

I've searched through the print control panel and the cups admin to no avail.

Can someone experienced with this advise as to how to suppress these annoying messages?
