We have a user who quit and wants that email account. I need to be able to look at old emails but not open Outlook and have new one keep coming in
while trying to find this option it downloads dozens of them before I can click anything to stop it, its soooo fast.
I click in the lower right and click Cancel. but a few seconds later is starts up again.

How did the post make it to the forum if the system is offline. . .

I believe some qualification is needed about what really is the problem. I'm not an e-"mail-man" but the people who are are able to look at other's e-mails.

Whether most people realize it or not, they gave permission for their organization permission to read things they send/receive.

Possibly i am thinking of a situation different than this topic.

If it is a corporate email account I have to say that the powers that be should deny this request for a number of reasons, not least of which being legal liabilities.

If it is some sort of gmail, hotmail or other internet email account then all you should need to do is remove the account from Outlook to stop picking it up. Or disable the POP3 and SMTP gateways for the account by pointing them to incorrect IP addresses or changing the password, or changing the email name used ...

Yes, I have to agree. This seems rather odd. If they quit why woul dbe entitled to anything like this???
