How do I stop a windows user from accessing views oand tables by setting up an ODBC link to the data base using windows authentification.

I want to force the user to use an sql login.

Do I need to dable the BUILTIN\Administrators login?

Deny all the logins which is setted up as Windows authentication.Leave all the logins with sql authentication.

You can't do it through the ODBC connection.

Using Enterprise Manager, drill down to Security. Open that and right-click on Logins. Select New Login. On the General tab you can choose whether the login authenticates via Windows or SQL Server. Then in the Database Access tab, you give them the required access. You can futher limit their access by going to the database, clicking on Users, selecting the user and giving specific permissions.
