I am using sendmail as only a process to send mail. I do not want sendmail to be used to receive mail and I don't want somebodey to use me as a relay smtp server. How can I set myself up as only a sending server?

You can start sendmail with some options like -bo......
I think man sendmail will tell you. I forgot the actual options that you have to start senmdail with so it doesnt receive email.
Hope this helps

Add this line to /etc/mail/sendmail.mc:

DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')

Then run this command:

m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/sendmail.cf

Then restart sendmail
