How to stop camera raw automatically applying settings

Does anyone know how to stop photoshop CS3/camera raw (through Bridge) opening images with settings automatically applied?

Every time I open a picture it appears with 50% brightness, 25% contrast, 5% brightness.

I have tried resetting the default settings with cntrl, shft, del.

Open CS3
Goto Edit/Preferences
Click File Handling
Click Camera Raw Preferences

Settings in there are made default in Camera Raw

You need the Default Image Settings box
Uncheck the "Apply Auto Tone Adjustments" check box.

That should do it
