how to stop backend procedure from d2k form

From a d2k form,
a backend process is started which consists of running
7 procedures one after another. There is a cancel
button on the form. Now the requirement is to stop the
procedure(/s) which is running when the user presses
the Cancel Button.
First Q., Is it possible to do so? Second, If Yes
then what are the steps needed to be taken.
