Is there any way to make this happen in Visual Studio? It's gotten to the point where I do not even want to use the stupid Design view because it TOTALY messes up any formatting that I may have done.

Is there any way to disable this COMPLETELY? I mean, I don't even want the darn thing to change my capitalization and it still does that as well.

Grrrrrrr ... very VERY frustrated. I'm ready to go back to notepad. Ed (RoadRacer) Holguin

Tools | Options | Text Editor | HTML/XML | Format

Uncheck both boxes, and this extremely annoying "feature" goes away.

Interesting ...

Thanks for your reply Link!

It hasn't fixed the problem entirely. For some reason, unless I force a save before I switch into Design View, it still does some auto-formatting. However, no where NEAR as much as before.

It seems like now it's affecting only my closing tags like Body, HTML and TABLE closing tags. Very wierd ... If I remember to save just before I switch to Design View, then it leaves it alone.

Any other ideas or will CTRL-S have to be come an instictive action before I switch to design view? hehehe

Thanks for your help! Ed (RoadRacer) Holguin

Oh, another place it still has its way with is the entire header section. It's like "THIS IS MY FORMAT AND YOU WILL NOT DEVIATE" ... unless of course I save immediately before going into design view. hehehe

I think Uncle Bill is playing jokes on me. =( Ed (RoadRacer) Holguin
