I have a NT4 Domain with several windows 2000 servers one of the W2K servers is participating as a master browser when the NT4 PDC is already a master browser. I want to stop the W2k server from being a master browser.

Is this it ?

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Disable "Computer Browser"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters]
"IsDomainMaster"="FALSE"

Bronto is correct, and you also should include the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters]
"MaintainServerList"="No"
