How to start teradata on widows 200??

Hi,
I have a demo version of terdat7. I am trying to start the database using teradata service control. But it is not starting up. It is giving me a message at the bottom please wait when I click on start database. And then got the message down/stop.
My host file has the following entry:

192.168.0.101 LUCKY demo1099cop1

Also I started all the services for teradata. Please help!!

Are there any error messages in the Application event Log?

Please tell me where is the event log located? I am very new to teradata.
