how to start database in teradata 2

HI,
I am a beginer in teradata, can any one help how to start database , coz it is giveing error "10061 WSA E Connection refused ".
i don't kow how to start database.
i am doing in windowns 2000, FAT 32

There's a little utility to start/stop Teradata:
Programs->
Teradata For Microsoft Windows Demo->
Teradata Service Control

Hi,

When I use this option

Programs->
Teradata For Microsoft Windows Demo->
Teradata Service Control

, within 60 seconds, there was a message shown as
"Database Down/Stopped". Even If I start the demo database, from Teradata Command Prompt, It's failing.
Please let me know , where can I check the error messages.
and How can I fix those and start the database.

For errors look at
Programs -> Administrative Tool -> Event Viewer
Teradata errors are reported in the Application Log.

Did you install demo 4.1 on W2K Service Pack 3?
Then you need a patch:

After applied the patch, the Teradata Database is started Running. (I installed the demo 4.1 on W2K SP2)
