How to Start App with parameter and use the param in the code ?

Can anyone tell me how to get the param if I start app with a parameter.For Example lets say i have an application called TextEdit.exe and I start it with:
TextEdit.exe file.txt

I want to know how to get in a String variable the name file.txt to use it.
