Can somebody point me to some good information on how to split an Access Database? I recently did some networking for a small company and moved all of their files to a central file share. Now only one person is able to work in a database file at a time. I am reading that splitting the database into a "front-end" and "back-end" allows multiple users to concurrently work in the same database file at the same time. I am no database expert so any help on this matter will be much appreciated.

You still may have issues with multiple users. Every user must have create, read, update, and delete permissions in the "central file share". Splitting your MDB and giving each user their own front end is a very good practice.

Thanks for the reply. One more question will I need to split the MDB for every user that is going to use this? Basically, will I just need to split it once and just copy the link to the front-end for each user or create a different front-end for each user?

A different front end for each user is generally recommended.
