Hi Techies,

I created a Nim master on an F50 server. When I install on my client using this nim master, the rootvg filesystems are all jfs. Is there a way to specify that you want your rootvg to be jfs format filesystems. I can change the logical volume type to jfs2 in smitty (chlv) but this does not seem to "convert" the filesystem to jfs2.

Any ideas.

There are no converter for JFS type ....
Once a filesystem has been created JFS you can only create a copy into a JFS2 filesystem.

You can specify a BOSINST.DATA file when you run smitty nim_bosinst in which you can specify CREATE_JFS_FS=yes

OOOOOPS ... the parameter to set up is CREATE_JFS2_FS

Thanx sbix,

I'm going thru my smitty nim panels, but do not find where I can add the CREATE_JFS2_FS parameter to the BOSINST.DATA file.

Zahier ... you have to give a name of BOSINST.DATA you wish to install, which is a specific installation file used in a non-interactive installation session
