how to sort rows in cross tab report

can anybody suggest me how to sort the rows in cross tab report......in my sql query I am passing order by but it's not giving any results....

The cross-tab does it's own sorting - it ignores the order of the SQL. You might go into the "group options" for the row field in your cross-tab and try specifying the order.
