My data looks like this -

Service Date Patient Number Encounter Number
2/15/06 1234 6789
3/07/06 1234 8821
4/06/06 1234 9521
1/09/06 4321 1535
2/05/06 4321 7528

Wanted Results -
4/06/06 1234 9521
2/05/06 4321 7528

How? Using Crystal 8.5

Use Insert->Group and select by the patient, then use Report->sortand sort by the date, then suppress the details and the group header sections and place your fields in the group footer.

I have data that looks like the following with unique records which I want to show; but I do not want the sum to add in the duplicate amounts. So show all patients even those coming in twice in one week, but add only the amount once.

Patient # Appointment Date Amount
12345 4/23/07 $100.00
67890 4/23/07 $125.00
12345 4/27/07 $100.00
-------
$225.00 total

I can't figure out a tidy formula for the total amount to only look at unique amounts. Help?

You should start a new thread. However, sort by patient # and use a running total field (not a formula field) and evaluate on change of patient.
