hi,..

In our company, we use Arcserve 6.61 Build 834sp2A and Client Agents 6.61

As you may know, some files which are in use (for example dhcp.tmp and j50.log)cannot be saved and you recieve an "incomplete" in your logfile.

Sure, I could exclude the mentioned files to get a "sucsessful" message, ...but if I do so, Arcserve wont back up any new files on the server, until I Include them manually.

I know that Arcserve 6.61 aint the realy newest version, but the company is too big to change it so quick and easily.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

as I read in a older Thread, I probably could use an exclude filter?!..is that right?

where to get it? Can I download it here on this page?

The filter options are just included with the product, but you'll have do some some testing on it to see which filters suit your backup jobs best.
Start a backup job and click on the filter icon (next to the job options icon). These filters are on job level and will be applied throughout the complete backup job.
If you have network sources or client agents in your environment then right-click the network machine or client agent. The filters applied here count for that specific machine only
