Hello,

Is it possible to install an application ONLY for a certain user? In the past I have simply used shortcuts: put them on the desktops where needed. Howerver, I have an app that overly integrates itself into the Windows 2000 Terminal server running MF 1.8. Do I simply log in as that user at the server and run the install???

TIA

Do you not want the integration for all users? How does the App integrate itself?

If just the install of the app doesn't cause a problem for other users, stay logged in as the administrator, install the app, publish it, then just give that one user access to that app.

If Windows integration is a bigger problem (as I've seen with Norton programs), then I would recommend keeping the app on the single user's desktop.

No, do not want it to integrate for all users. The app (PSP 7) integrates itself in a couple ways. One it places itself in the right cilck menu. Fortunately you can undo that option when u install. BUT, it also associates itself with all image file formats. I broke the associations thru the app, but now images have no association. I can pain stakingly go thru all 20 file associates it broke an manually repair them, I guess...

However that still leaves one integration. If the user recieves a file of an unknown format, windows will provide a list of apps to use. The app will be listed there, thus giving them access if they choose it...

I am not familiar with application publishing or its advantages.

More suggestions?
