Ok im about to setup a cluster of 2 3300 cx's connected via IP networking. Im looking at the stuff about the CEID and am getting confused with the ars stuff. So when you make a call from system a to system b, does ARS need to insert the cluster ID of the other system? and if it does this what does system b do with those leading digits? does it automatically strip it off?

Yes and Yes.

Here is the call flow in 1 direction for a clustered system call. Assuming 4 digit Extension and 4 Digit CEID

System 1 CEID = 1000 Extensions = 1100-1199
System 2 CEID = 2000 Extensions = 2100-2199

Extension 1100 dials 2100
System 1 matches 2100 as remote DN
Remote DN form designates Cluster element 2
Cluster Element 2 inserts CEID 2000
System 1 dials 20002100
2000 matches ARS digits with IP route to system 2 with 4 digits to follow
connection made to system 2
System 2 receives digits 20002100
2000 matches Local CEID.
System 2 strips Local CEID
System 2 dials 2100
Call connects to 2100

in regards to the Shared forms configuration..
Since my ultimate goal is have all members listed in each controllers directory, does this mean I only need to share the Telephone Directory form from here? I noticed that almost everything is setup to be shared by default. If these system were not configured to be identical, I could see one system maybe overwriting a form on another system.

What forms are shared is dependant on your method of managing the Cluster.

If managed by OPSman, then no forms are required to be shared. If managed by the embedded Remote DN config released with MCD4 then I believe some forms need to be shared but I do not know which and most certainly one of them will be the Tel Dir.

If, as you say, the controllers are not setup identically, then most sharing should be turned off.

Ok so I finally go the cluster working somewhat correctly. By this I mean...I have sucessfully migrated to SDS, I have been able to sync without errors, the Remote Directory number forms in both system have been automatically populated with the remote systems users.

I can call into system 1, let the auto attendant pickup and then type an extension on system 2. The user on system 2 picks up the phone and every thing is fine.

But when I call into system 2, let the AA pickup, and then dial a user on system 1 ( ext. 2904), the operator says "you are being transferred to, you are being transferred to, 9-0-4."

In this systems AA, I have an xfer only mailbox of 2 that is setup to xfer to 4506 (on the opposite system)

I feel like whats happening is the AA is trying to select the xfer only mailbox (mailbox 2) without waiting to hear the rest of my digits being dialed. Is there anything I can change to make option 2 wait for more digits?

The VM is designed to wait for more digits when there is a mailbox 2 and you dial 2904.

The more likely analysis is that the VM on system 2 is designed for 3 digit mailboxes.

Or that "transfer to any extension" is not enabled in the mailbox options?
