How to share DLT tape drive between two RS6000's

Help,

I have a 44P 170 machine with a Tandberg 40/80 external SCSI tape drive attached. I would like to share this drive with my other 43P 150 server so I can make a 'mksysb' backup. Both computers are running AIX 4.3.3. I thought I saw somewhere a fairly lengthy command that makes this a reality. Is this possible? What are my options?

I may be mistaken but you cannot share a SCSI driven Tape Drive with 2 servers at the same time without having a SAN in place.
