Hello all,

I am having a bit of trouble getting logon scripts to run for users attaching to a W2k server and I can't find much in the way of documents to explain how to do it.

I have created a batch file with a couple of net use commands in it and put this batch file in the "c:\WINNT\SYSVOL\domain\scripts" directory and then in the user properties profile tab logon script box I put the same path and the logon script name e.g. c:\WINNT\SYSVOL\domain\scripts\logon.bat

Unfortunatly the script never runs. Any ideas why anyone?

Cheers, Simon.

Hi Simon, if you're editing the script path under user properties in AD Users and Computers, you don't need to enter the full path to the NETLOGON directory. If the script file is in that location, just enter the name of the file itself. W2K knows where to look....

I had that happen once. Sounds silly but I copied the file to desktop, deleted the file from the scripts directory, checked the permissions was for everyone on the file and recopyed it to the dir and everything worked fine.

I had that problem once. It was a rights issue with the file itself.

I've checked all the rights. Once the user has logged in I can run %logonserver%\netlogon\logon.bat and it runs fine. So I'm guessing that that means there are no problems with rights.

Thanks for everyones help so far.
