Hi,
I have to setup frame relay to 4 sites from Mumbai,India. My router is 2611XM.
One site is at NY and other 3 are at Mumbai.
I also require to give ISDN backup to all these sites.
Can anybody tell me what other components will I require, besides 2611 router e.g modems/WICs.
What type of connection should I go for SVC or PVC?

Thanx,

You should talk with the telco that you will be dealing with for the frame they may only allow certain services or may supply certain equipment. For example, you will need a CSU/DSU this the telco may supply as part of the service. If this is the case you won't want to pick one up. But basically want you will need is the following, CSU/DSU, DTE to DCE cable, Router and the necessary wicks for each location. You may want to do some reading on Frame relay at so that you can make an informed decision.

For your second question PVC are Permenent established connections and SVC are dynamically establihed connections. If your remote site only use the frame connection intermitently you may want to use SVC, but check on the costing of this service, it may be cheaper to use PVC.

hope this helps
