Basic Info
On Win XP. I am running an apache webserver. I have a domain name. My ISP blocks Port 80.

I want to be able to setup my domain name point to my ip to view my website. MY isp blocks Port 80 so i make the webserver on Port 8080. When i put in my "A Record" my ip, i can not put in my new port. So this does not seem to work. My alternative is to use redirect . So now when i type in my host it redirects to my ip with port. But when i use my domain with a subdomain otherfolder.mydomain.com or it does not work, because it only forwarded to the ip and the the domain name becomes worthless to the website. Is there anyway i can modify my "A Record" or CName to work with a port?

Any help will be helpful
Thanks
Rico

No. You cannot define port numbers in DNS.

Chris.
